Wachusett “Country Pale Ale” #2

I ordered this before finding out that it’s the exact same beer as the “Country Ale” with a rename a couple months ago, rumored to be due to FDA regulation. It’s a good beer and we enjoyed it this past May (it was kicked just a fewweeks ago in fact).

Wachusett says;

• Available year round

Our original brew crafted by Ned, Kevin and Quinny in the early 90′s with super drinkability.
American two row pale with Crystal malts Cascade, Willamette and Cluster hops.

Great beer, just took too long to finish as it spanned August, which was basically a dry month.

I had this at Not Your Average Joe’s on Monday night and need a 2nd keg since we’ve been crushing the BBC Gold Spike Ale. It’s a solid beer and I’m thinking about making Wachusett Brewery my next brewery to try and serve every one of their beers.

This is an American Pale Ale with 5.0% ABV – so basically we have two great session beers on tap at the moment. It’s rated a “B” on BA and the brewery writes,

• The best selling ale in Central Massachusetts
• First brewed 1994
• Available year round

Wachusett “Summer Ale”

Wachusett’s Summer and Winter beers are among my favorites from the brewery. We’re getting a 1/6 of it on tap tomorrow, paired with BBC’s Limited “Floor Malt Pilsner“.

Wachusett brewery says, “Wachusett Summer Ale SUPER REFRESHING! American wheat ale with a hint of lemon. Available in Stores: April 1st to mid September”. It has an underrated “B-” on BeerAdvocate, but I suspect I’ll end up giving it a “B” to “B+” (it’s been a while since I’ve had it).

Should go quickly – the Wachusett “Green Monsta” flew by to become the fastest consumed beer we’ve served yet.

Wachusett “Green Monsta Ale”

The first Wachusett keg on tap is a good one, their “Green Monsta Ale”. It has a “B+” on BeerAdvocate, which seems accurate. Should be a fast beer.

Wachusett brewery describes it simply as, “A BIG PALE ALE with an awsome balance of Belgian malts with Fuggles and East Kent Golding hops.”

Pair with Shipyard’s 2008 “Brewer’s Choice Brown Ale”.

[Update]: Wow, that went too quickly… third fastest consumed beer. It was really that good.
